Many popular events happen in downtown Wichita. 'First Friday' is a popular monthly event falling on the first friday of every month. Art galleries, museums, shops and restaurants in several areas of Wichita stay open late and often offer up special activities to mark the occasion. Most of Commerce Street (around The Finn Lofts) participates in this event and Commerce Street is usually "the place to be" during First Fridays. Hours vary from location to location but all are open during the core hours of 7pm to 9pm. Live music is often a pleasant surprise, and all venues are free to the public.
Other downtown happenings are frequent at the Intrust Bank Arena and in the popular 'Old Town' district. Many of these events we will post a blog story to help promote downtown events.
